WCNRM#2027 Code of Conduct

Venue & Travel Organising Committee Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

The Resource Modeling Association (RMA) brings together researchers from mathematics, statistics, ecology, economics, engineering, agriculture, public health, and many other fields. Our events work best when participants feel respected, welcome, and able to contribute openly, regardless of background, discipline, or career stage.

Attendance at RMA endorsed events, including the World Conference on Natural Resource Modeling (WCNRM) and its associated activities is conditional on agreeing to this Code of Conduct.

Harassment, discrimination, or behavior that undermines another person’s participation will not be tolerated. This includes conduct that is intimidating, demeaning, exclusionary, or disruptive, as well as unwelcome sexualized comments or attention, whether in talks, discussions, social events, or online spaces. Prohibited behavior also includes harassment or discrimination based on personal characteristics including race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, disability, gender, or sexuality, among others.

The RMA recognises that many participants work across disciplines and may experience uncertainty or impostor syndrome when engaging with mathematical modeling and analysis. We value curiosity, respectful questioning, and intellectual generosity, and expect all participants to engage with one another in a way that supports learning, collaboration, and inclusion.

Conference organisers will take all reports of potential breaches of this Code of Conduct seriously and handle them with care, discretion, and respect for all parties involved. Where necessary, organisers may take appropriate action, including removal from the conference.

If you experience or witness behaviour that may violate this Code of Conduct, please contact a designated Code of Conduct representative.
