Openings for Post-Doctoral Researchers in Environmental and Resource Economics

Resources for the Future (RFF) currently has openings for postdoctoral researchers. The post-doctoral program is designed to provide unique opportunities for postdoctoral fellows to contribute to projects underway, pursue new lines of inquiry, and participate with RFF fellows and senior fellows in engaging with policymakers. RFF is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution focused on independent economic and quantitative policy analysis (
www.rff.org). RFF is committed to scholarly excellence and policy applications and offers an outstanding environment for academic publication and high-level communication of research to policy audiences.
RFF is interested in candidates working on various issues in environmental and natural resource economics. For one position we are seeking a candidate with strong interests in ecosystem and natural resource management, including topics such as (but not limited to) species conservation, invasive species management, bioeconomic modeling, and land management decision-making.
All candidates should have (i) a PhD completed prior to beginning the postdoc, (ii) excellent written communication skills, (iii) enthusiasm for policy-relevant research, and (iv) the ability and desire to collaborate with a team of RFF Research Fellows, Research Associates and Research Assistants. The position also provides support for independent research, including publishing papers from a completed dissertation.
Annual salary is $80,000 plus benefits. The position starts with a one-year appointment with the strong expectation of renewal for a second year upon satisfactory performance. Only applicants who are willing to come to RFF without a deferred appointment will be considered. The start date is negotiable but can be no later than the Fall of 2020.
