Deakin University, Australia is currently recruiting for a series of academic positions, including:
· Lecturer in Fisheries
· Senior Lecturer in Aquatic Microbiology
Given your expertise and areas of research, I would imagine you might be aware of someone (ideally young rising star) that could be interested in one of these positions. Or alternatively, please feel free to forward this message to your network. This would be much appreciated.
For those not aware of Deakin University and Australia, just a brief intro: Deakin is a young and dynamic university, currently the 6th largest university in Australia and rapidly growing for its international reputation. We have good history of research and teaching activities in marine, freshwater, fisheries and aquaculture and we are now further expanding, with substantial internal support, including a new marine station based at Queenscliff in coloration with the Victorian Fisheries Authority and the Department of Primary Industry.
Both positions will be based at Geelong (Waurn Ponds campus) and Queenscliff station. Therefore this would allow the successful applicant, if they like, to live somewhere on the Bellarine peninsula, in a breathtaking semi-rural coastal environment, few minutes away from the vibrant town of Geelong and one hour away from Melbourne (currently considered the most liveable city in the world). The salary package is also very nice, and Deakin provides one of the best university place where to establish an academic career. So in summary, not that bad at all!
