Graduate research assistantship opportunity


Successful candidates will enroll the graduate program (either Ph.D. or
M.S.) at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, University of Utah in
Spring (begins in January 2017) or Fall (begins in August 2017)
Semester, and work with Professor Zhaoxia Pu
( [1]) on the research projects funded by
US federal agencies (e.g, NOAA, NSF etc.). Research topics include
numerical modeling, physical parameterizations, and data assimilation
related to the Next-Generation Global Prediction System (NGGPS) and the
mesoscale community Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model.
Previous experience in the atmospheric boundary layer, land surface
model, and data assimilation will be helpful but not required.
