Accommodation

There are two distinct lodging options: you can stay on-site at the Craigville Conference Center or you can stay off-site at a nearby hotel, guest house, or cottage. If you choose to stay off-site, you are completely responsible for arranging your own reservations and transportation. You will need to purchase meals at the conference site - we recommend purchasing meal passes when you register. Some options for off-site lodging are provided below.

The advantages to staying on-site are cost, convenience, proximity to the ocean, and the opportunity to stay in an traditional Cape Cod cottage or inn. The on-site location is familiy friendly. The off-site locations will offer more amenities. The Craigville Conference Center is a collection of charming guest houses, plus a rustic inn. Rooms are single, double, or triple occupancy. Some rooms have private bathrooms and others use shared bathrooms. The rooms have twin or double beds and electricity, but there is no heat and no air conditioning (neither of which are typically necessary in June). There are no phones, internet, or alarm clocks. The center will provide you with sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels. Some toiletries will be available, but plan to bring most of what you need. If you came to the RMA meeting in Arcata, the on-site housing is similar to the dormitory lodging at Arcata, except that you'll be staying in what used to be old summer homes. In fact, one of the cottages used to belong to my Great-grandmother! I have stayed here several times and find it to be quiet, charming, and full of solitude. This conference will have a 'retreat' feel to it, as it is located directly on the ocean and away from all shops and tourist attractions.

Craigville Conference Center Rates are for ROOM and BOARD

This price for a shared room is USD 300 per person for 3 nights (June 19, 20, 21). You will be provided with sheets, towels, pillows, pillowcases, and blankets. The price includes all meals (dinner on June 19 through lunch on June 21, including the lobster banquet). There is a surcharge for a single room (USD 100). It is not possible to add or subtract a night to this deal...it's just for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. If you are only need the room for one or two nights, we will try to accomodate you but you will need to sign up and pay the full price with your conference registration. You must pre-pay in full and any cancellations after June 1st will only be reimbursed if we successfully rent the room to another conference attendee. Sorry to have to set up a rule like this, but this is a non-profit retreat center that required us to pre-pay for all the rooms in March, so we need to ensure that we cover the financial outlay. Also, USD 225 for youth (ages 6 - 17) in a room with a parent. Children ages 5 and under are free (including food). TV/VCR's available for the duration of your stay for a fee of USD 25 - this is paid on-site. There are many variations of room style -- most have single (twin) beds, some have double beds, one has a bunk bed. Some rooms have private bathrooms and others don't. For families, there are rooms with one double bed and two single beds. Shared rooms will be with one or two other people, depending upon the room style. On the registration form, make it clear what type of room would suit you best and we will accommodate you as best we can.

Off-Site Locations

Each of these hotels, cottages, or local guest houses is near the conference center, although none are within walking distance. You'll need a car or a taxi (see the travel link for car rental and taxi information).
