1999 World Conference on Natural Resource Modeling

The Meeting:
Spatial and temporal dynamics for management of natural resource systems
This multidisciplinary conference is being
sponsored by the Resource Modeling Association to provide a forum for new
developments in modelling and analysis of natural resource systems, particularly
ecological, economic and management aspects in forestry, fisheries, wildlife,
agriculture, ecosystem and biodiversity conservation, and management of multiple
use resources.
Location: The conference will be held at Saint
Mary's University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, an historic city dating back to the
1700s, and the major centre on Canada's Atlantic coast. A wide variety of
activities are available during the conference for those accompanying conference
participants.
Program: Keynote speakers, paper and poster
sessions, workshops, opening reception (evening of June 22) and banquet.
Optional post-conference tours are planned for June 26th on coastal/fishery and
inland/forestry themes; information will be provided at a later date to those
expressing interest.

Call for Papers: Abstracts of 100-200 words are
welcome, submitted by e-mail if possible. Please note author's name and address,
title of presentation, and whether oral or poster presentation is preferred.
Deadline: April 15, 1999.
Registration: Registration fees include
lunches, opening reception, banquet. Rates (Canadian dollars) are: C$150 before
May 1st; C$175 after May 1st; and C$50 for students (excluding banquet). To

Payment may be made either by cheque made out to Saint Mary's University in
Canadian or U.S. dollars (drawn on a Canadian or U.S. bank) or by credit card
(note whether Visa or Mastercard, and give cardholder name, card number, expiry

(C$99 single or double; central Halifax near sightseeing and restaurants, walk
or shuttle to conference; deadline May 22, 1999) and the university residence
(on the conference site, with single rooms @C$27, twin rooms @C$42 and 2-bedroom
apartments @C$78). Note: Prices do not include 15% tax. Details on making
reservations will be provided upon registration and/or abstract submission.
